AVSET (Automated Volume Scan Evaluation and Termination)

AVSET scans the atmosphere and checks for precipitation returns. If a certain dBZ value is not detected (starting at 5.1°), the radar will gracefully terminate the VCP one tilt after the threshold is not met (earliest after the 6.4° scan).
